Female San Bernardino Shooter Reportedly Pledged Allegiance to ISIS on Facebook

The female shooter accused of killing 14 people in San Bernardino with her husband posted an online statement pledging allegiance to an ISIS leader, according to reports.

Citing U.S. officials, CNN and the Associated Press reported that Tashfeen Malik posted the pledge on a Facebook page that was made under a different name. She then deleted the post.

Malik, 27, and her husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, opened fire at the Inland Regional Center on Wednesday as a holiday party was underway.

Little has been revealed about Malik since she was identified as one of the shooters, and so far, no images of her have emerged. Even those who worshipped at her husband's mosque say they don't know what she looked like.

The FBI says Malik, a Pakistani native, had been living in Saudi Arabia when she married Farook, a U.S. citizen who was born in Illinois. She first entered the U.S. on a fiance visa in 2014.

She was granted a green card last year after passing a Homeland Security counterterrorism screening and returned to the U.S. earlier this year.

Christian Nwadike, who worked with Farook, told CBS News that his co-worker had been different since he returned from Saudi Arabia.

"I think he married a terrorist," Nwadike said.

According to Fox News, investigators are looking at whether Malik radicalized her husband.

The couple, who are believed to have met on a Muslim dating website, had a daughter, who is now six months old. Farook's sister and brother-in-law are now hoping to adopt the couple's child, they said.
