See Inside the Home Where the Killers Planned Their Deadly Massacre
The couple left behind baby clothes, photographs, ammo and startling financial records before their shooting spree.
Piles of baby clothes, an unfinished meal and religious reading material beside the bed – this is the scene the two San Bernardino shooters left when they headed out on their shooting spree.
The couple's landlord granted access to the home of Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik on Friday. Doyle Miller admitted he was nervous to see inside the building, saying: “I don’t know what I’m going to find.”
There was evidence of the police raid at the townhouse, including how the front door that had apparently been pried loose and covered in plywood, holes in the wall and broken glass.
But there was also evidence of everyday family life inside the home, where the couple lived with their six-month-old daughter. There were baby clothes, blankets and toys piled high in a crib as well as books including "Goodnight Stories from the Quran."
There was also a log detailing the thousands of rounds of ammunition found inside the home. It listed 14 boxes of 50 rounds and a bag of 1,000 rounds.
A bank statement inside the home noted a balance of nearly $64,000. Farook is believed to have been making $51,000 a year as a health inspector.
The couple left their daughter at Farook's mother's home on Wednesday morning before going on their shooting spree, which left 14 dead and 21 injured. It has since emerged that Malik had pledged allegiance to ISIS on Facebook.
