Trump Slammed For His Call to Ban Muslims, But He Says It's Nothing FDR Didn't Do to Japanese-Americans

Both political parties are condemning Donald Trump following his call to ban Muslims from America.

Both sides of the political coin wasted no time in reacting to Donald Trump's comments that all Muslims should be banned from entering America.

Hilary Clinton blasted the GOP frontrunner on Twitter:

This is reprehensible, prejudiced and divisive. @RealDonaldTrump, you don't get it. This makes us less safe. -H https://t.co/SjAqL0clHd

Former Vice President Dick Cheney expressed outrage on The Hugh Hewitt Show and said: "This whole notion that somehow we can just say no more Muslims, just ban a whole religion, goes against everything we stand for and believe in. I mean, religious freedom has been a very important part of our history and where we came from."

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly discussed the bipartisan reactions on her show, saying: "He managed to bring Hillary Clinton and Dick Cheney together. My head will explode.”

The firestorm isn't letting up. "Trump goes full fascist" shouted out The Huffington Post.

Trump didn’t seem phased by the controversy as he wrapped up a speech Monday night on the USS Yorktown in South Carolina and was greeted by a standing ovation.

Trump compared his proposal to the Roosevelt administration's decision to lock Japanese-Americans in internment camps and restrict German and Italian-Americans during World War II.

On Tuesday morning, George Stephanopoulos questioned Trump about a shocking Philadelphia Daily News front page that depicts Trump raising his hand like Hitler.

The Good Morning America co-host asked: “Does that give you any pause at all?”

“No, because what I’m doing is no different than FDR’s solution for Germans, Italians, Japanese,” Trump said. “They couldn't go five miles from their homes. They could use radios, flashlights. Take a look at FDR. He's one of the most highly respected presidents. They named highways after him.”

Following his GMA interview, on MSNBC's Morning Joe there was an all-out battle as the hosts tried to question the candidate who called in for a live interview.

As Trump ranted about his immigration policy and his controversial declaration about what he would do to Muslims, host Joe Scarborough cut off the presidential hopeful and booted him from the show.

“You have got to let us ask questions, you can’t just talk,” he said. “Donald, Donald, Donald, Donald, Donald, you're not going to keep talking. We will go to break if you keep talking. We're gonna ask you questions.”

“Go to break, then, Joe,” Trump replied.

Even Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who has been quiet on Twitter since joining in 2008, made his fourth tweet after Trump blasted his company and The Washington Post, which is owned by Bezos.

The @washingtonpost, which loses a fortune, is owned by @JeffBezos for purposes of keeping taxes down at his no profit company, @amazon.

Bezos fired back and offered to launch Trump into outer space.

Finally trashed by @realDonaldTrump. Will still reserve him a seat on the Blue Origin rocket. #sendDonaldtospace https://t.co/9OypFoxZk3
