Couch ignored reporters’ questions as she was rushed through the airport.

If convicted, she faces up to ten years in jail for helping her son, Ethan, evade authorities.

He wore a black cap and coat as he was flown to Mexico City after winning a temporary delay of extradition back to Texas.

A Mexican judge is expected to rule next month if and when Ethan will be sent back to the United States.

Tonya's lawyer, Stephanie Patterson, spoke out for the first time to WFAA8 in Texas.

She said: “Put yourself in Tonya’s shoes. What would you do if you were a parent with a son who is the most hated boy in America. What would you do to protect him?”

The mother and son first stayed in a swanky resort in Mexico for three days, bringing their dog along for the ride.

A housekeeper at the hotel claimed to discover a pistol left behind in a drawer.

One night he reportedly went to a local gentleman's club, but he didn't have enough money to pay his bar tab.
