Mike and Molly Actor Responds to Blogger's Comments

The star of the CBS sitcom Mike and Molly sat down for his first interview since Marie Claire magazine blogger Maura Kelly made the insulting crack that he and his co-star were too fat to be intimate on television.

"I'd be grossed out if I had to watch two characters with rolls and rolls of fat kissing each other," the blogger wrote.

"She made some dumb, ignorant comments. And I think the public stood up and handed it to her and let her know how out of line she was," said Billy Gardell.

Gardell told the ladies of The Talk he's heard from thousands of supportive viewers.

"Anybody who has ever felt awkward or weird about they way they look [...] really stood up and said, 'You know what, you don't get to decide who gets to fall in love,' " he said.
