Kanye West has started a Twitter war by saying he believes Bill Cosby is innocent as the comic faces rape charges.
Some celebrities are going off on Kanye West after the rapper sparked a Twitter outcry when he tweeted that Bill Cosby is "innocent" of accusations he sexually assaulted women.

The 38-year-old rapper’s tweet was one in a series of posts about his new record and upcoming fashion show in New York City. It surprised some who follow the rapper on social media.

More than 50 women have accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting them in episodes dating as far back as the 1960s. He is currently awaiting trial in Pennsylvania on sexual assault charges, the first criminal counts filed against him.
Cosby's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the charges and after a two-day hearing last week, Judge Steven O'Neill rejected it. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 8.

The 78-year-old comedian had denied any wrongdoing.
