Kalamazoo Suspect's Best Man: 'He's The Last Person I'd Expect to See in an Orange Jumpsuit'
Andrew Jamieson told INSIDE EDITION he was shocked to see his friend's face splashed across the news.
A friend of the suspected Kalamazoo killer says he was stunned when he found out who was allegedly behind the attack.
Andrew Jamieson, who said he was best man at Jason Dalton's wedding, told INSIDE EDITION that he never noticed anything amiss with his friend.
"I never would have believed Jason would be capable of something like this," he said. "He would be one of the last people I would expect to see in an orange jumpsuit sitting in jail for doing something so heinous."
Jamieson, 45, said he met Dalton when they were 18.
"He grew up in a good home [with] a very supportive mother and father," he said. "I didn't see any indications of this. He never expressed anything but positives about how his life was going."
He added that his friend always had a gun, but that he trusted him.
“Clearly I would have been wrong,” he said.
Dalton, a 45-year-old Uber driver, was arrested on Sunday morning after three separate shootings that left six dead and two injured.
He has been charged with six counts of murder, two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and eight charges of using a firearm during the commission of a felony. He has not yet entered a plea.
On Monday, the Dalton family released a statement.
"There are no words which can express our shock and disbelief. We are devastated and saddened for the victims and the families of the victims," they said.
"This type of violence has no place in our society, and we express our love and support for everyone involved. We intend to cooperate in every way that we can to help determine why and how this occurred."
