Michael Jackson's children appeared on Oprah today in their first interview since the King of Pop's death. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
"A normal dad." Not the first words that spring to mind when the dad is Michael Jackson, but that's how his daughter Paris remembers him.
"Nobody understands what a good father he was. I'd say he was the best cook ever," said Paris.
A surprised Oprah Winfrey replied, "A cook?!"
"Yeah. He was just a normal dad. He made the best french toast in the world. He made the best breakfasts," said Paris.
Paris, Prince and Blanket Jackson met with Oprah Winfrey in their grandparents' backyard.
You can see how the children have grown since we last saw them at the memorial service for their father in June 2009, where Paris gave a heartbreaking eulogy.
The blue-eyed 12-year-old beauty shared her hopes and dreams for the future.
"I'd like to be an actress when I'm older," said Paris.
Prince is a typical 13-year-old. Oprah asked, "What is it you love to do?"
"Video games and sports," said Prince.
And he explained why they wore veils over their faces when their dad took them out, saying, "So when we did go out without our dad, nobody would recognize us."
"It wasn't always comfortable," said Paris.
"It was to protect you," said Oprah.
"Yeah," said Paris.
The world was introduced to Blanket when Michael dangled the nine-month-old baby over a balcony in Germany in 2002. Blanket is now eight-years-old.
Oprah asked, "Blanket, are you still home schooled?"
"Yes," replied Blanket.
But Prince and Paris are no longer home schooled.
Oprah asked, "Was this your first year entering regular school?"
"Yeah," said Prince.
"What was that like?" asked Oprah.
"I guess I was just nervous," said Paris
Michael Jackson's children say they miss him every day.
Oprah asked, "What do you miss the most?"
"Everything," said Paris.
Michael Jackson tried to keep his fame away from his children. One of the cuter moments of the interview is when Paris says her father tried to raise them without them knowing who he was, but that didn't really go so well.
