Donald Trump Blames Rally Unrest on Sanders: 'Be Careful, Bernie!'
Donald Trump's rallies keep getting more chaotic and on Sunday morning the billionaire appeared to blame Democratic rival Bernie Sanders.
As Donald Trump's rallies have become progressively chaotic, the candidate has placed the blame on Democratic rival Bernie Sanders.
Chicago, Missouri and Ohio have all seen unrest at rallies scheduled for the Republican front-runner in the past several days. On Sunday, Trump pointed the finger at Sanders and even issued the U.S. Senator from Vermont what appeared to be a warning.
Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren't told to go to my events. Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 13, 2016
"Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren't told to go to my events. Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!" Trump tweeted.
Trump then doubled down in an interview with Jake Tapper on Sunday morning in which he told the CNN host he knows Bernie is to blame for the demonstrations because many of them carry Bernie for President signs.
Senator Sanders has denied the claim he's behind the protests and both he and Hillary Clinton have come out to denounce violence against Trump and his followers.
Nonetheless, tense moments abounded at Trump's rallies in recent days. In Chicago on Friday, protesters who believe Trump is a racist agitator clashed with his supporters ahead of an event at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The event was abruptly canceled by the Trump campaign. Five people were arrested and two police officers were reportedly injured.
Also on Friday, a St. Louis Trump rally turned ugly as protesters interrupted the candidate's speech and Trump openly mocked them as "not good people" who are "destroying our country."
Nine interruptions occurred during the rally and one person was arrested.
Things appeared ready to take an even more startling turn Saturday, when attendees at a Trump event in Dayton, Ohio were shocked to see four Secret Service agents rush toward Trump and form a protective ring around him.
It was soon revealed that the scare came when a man tried to rush the stage during Trump's speech.
