A video shows the terrifying moment a man was hurled into Florida waters by a shark.
A 56-year-old man was paddle boarding off the coast of Jupiter, Florida when he had a close encounter with a shark.
On Thursday, Maximo Trinidad was recording himself using a GoPro camera when he was upended by a five-foot spinner shark while he was in the water.
He told IE: "I was excited to experience the shark jumping at me so close. It is a unique experience to have this shark coming so close to you and thank God nothing happened."
Spinner sharks are known for taking spinning leaps out of the water.
Luckily for Trinidad, the shark didn’t jump and the only thing airborne at that moment was him as he went flying off his board.
He was not hurt and climbed back on the paddle board.
In 2015, there was a shark attack epidemic with 59 people getting attacked in the United States, 30 of the attacks were in Florida.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission say that Florida has a diverse shark population.
They say: “Experts believe that most shark attacks are cases of mistaken identity, which explains why nearly all shark attacks that occur in Florida waters are of a bite-and-release nature."
