Real Life Hamburglar Breaks into Burger Joint to Make Himself a Meal: Cops
Security footage from a Washington, DC Five Guys restaurant appears to show a man making himself a burger after letting himself inside.
Has the Hamburglar relocated to the nation's capital? Security footage from a Washington, DC burger chain appears to suggest he has.
In video shared by the Metropolitan Police Department, cops say a man is seen letting himself into a Five Guys before fixing up a burger to chow down on.
According to the MPD, the suspect "followed a delivery man" into the restaurant on March 18 before firing up the grill.
"[He] rummaged through the establishment, cooked food, and stole bottled water before leaving the restaurant," police said in a statement on Sunday.
In the video, the man even appears to chat on his phone and drink a beverage during the bizarre break-in.
As the Washington City Paper notes, it is unclear from the video if the suspect ever ate the burgers.
The man was inside the establishment for around two hours, according to police.
Anyone with information about the person seen in the video is asked to contact Metropolitan Police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE to 50411.
