Prince's Personal Chef Says The Singer Was Frequently Ill Before His Death

Prince’s personal chef is breaking his silence about the final months of the star's life.

"It felt like he wasn't himself probably the last month or two," Ray Roberts told The Associated Press. “I think he was just struggling with being sick a lot."

Roberts was the “Purple Rain” singer’s personal chef for three years. He cooked for the musician every day inside his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota and said he noticed a change in his diet.

He claims he noticed the singer was losing weight, eating less and drinking less water.

In the interview, the chef said that Prince would have sore throats or was sick for “weeks at a time” earlier this year.

The singer, who was vegetarian, changed his diet from spicy soups to smoothies and juices to help settle his stomach and coat his throat, according to Roberts.

Prince, 57, was found dead inside his compound on April 21. A cause of death has not been revealed.

Police officials confirmed that the singer was found with prescription drugs at the time of his death and investigators are looking into if his death was an overdose.

Roberts says there was “not even a hint” of drug abuse.
