Dumped Lover Arrested on Stalking Charges After Sending His Ex 118 Text Messages in Eight Hours: Cops
Gainesville, Florida police say William Hardaway was in a relationship with a married woman who broke things off when he sent her 118 texts in eight hours.
A Florida man was arrested last week after police say he sent a woman 118 texts over about eight hours.
William Hardaway, 34, was charged with aggravated stalking Thursday by Gainesville police after he repeatedly contacted a woman despite her multiple requests that he stop, according to an arrest affidavit.
Hardaway and the victim, who is married, had been in a relationship before the woman broke things off in order to repair her relationship, police say.

Police say Hardaway sent the barrage of texts on May 6, when he's also accused of calling the victim's cell phone twice and her place of work four times.
In one of the text messages, Hardaway appeared to threaten the victim's husband's life, the affidavit says.
"Hope your dumb*** husband doesn't get shot in the face," the alleged threat read.
Police say the victim took the threat seriously because Hardaway owns several firearms and suffers from PTSD.

Hardaway and the woman were in a relationship for approximately two and a half months, according to the affidavit.
Online court records show a no contact order has been issued to Hardaway, who remains held in Alachua County on $50,000 bond.
Hardaway is being represented by a public defender, who was unavailable for comment over the weekend.
