Bobby Brown Says He First Saw Whitney Houston Do Drugs on Their Wedding Day
The singer blames Nick Gordon for the untimely deaths of his wife and daughter.
Bobby Brown is breaking his silence and explaining the startling discovery he says he made about Whitney Houston on his wedding day.
In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, the former New Edition singer was asked about his marriage, starting at the beginning: "You broke tradition a little bit and saw her before the wedding?”
“It was the first time I actually saw her do drugs,” he replied, describing how he spotted his wife-to-be doing a line of cocaine.
In his new memoir, Every Little Step I Take, Brown writes that he saw her "hunched over a bureau snorting a line of cocaine." She asked him if he wanted to do a line with her and he declined.
Roberts told Inside Edition that “he really wanted to tell his story" to set the record straight.
Over the years, Bobby Brown has been accused of introducing Houston to drugs.
“It wasn't me who started her,” he told Roberts. “We all have our own minds and some are stronger than others."
Brown also wrestles with the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who also reportedly abused drugs before her death last year.
Roberts told Inside Edition: "He talked about in the book that he and Whitney failed Bobbi Kristina and that has got to be hard for any parent to say that. That they could have done and should have done more as parents."
The singer was very frank as he tried to connect the dots between his wife and daughter's deaths and pointed a finger at Nick Gordon, who was close to both women.
Gordon has denied any involvement in their deaths. Inside Edition reached out to Gordon's attorney, Jose Baez, who had "no comment" on the matter.
“It's not a mystery to me that the same thing that happened to my wife happened to my daughter, happened to Whitney” Brown told Roberts. “He knows what happened.”
Roberts was candid to Inside Edition and said that he couldn’t say Nick Gordon’s name.
