Selma Blair Apologizes for Airplane Meltdown: 'I Am a Flawed Human Being Who Makes Mistakes'
The actress was traveling first class when she apparently mixed booze and medication together.
Selma Blair has apologized after suffering a bizarre airplane meltdown in which she exclaimed: "He won't let me eat or drink. He beats me."
In a statement to Vanity Fair, the 43-year-old actress said: “I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath.
"I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry."
A photo obtained by TMZ showed the actress looking "out of it" and being treated by two nurses in first class on Monday's flight.
Blair told Vanity Fair she blacked out after ingesting a mixture of booze and pills.
“I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret,’ she said. "My son was with his Dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace."
In her mid-air freak out she reportedly yelled: "He won't let me eat or drink. He beats me. He's going to kill me." It was unclear who she was talking about.
Blair was returning home from a family vacation in Cancun, Mexico, when the incident occurred. She was taken off on a stretcher by paramedics at LAX and had to be hospitalized.
The actress recently appeared as Kris Jenner in the FX hit The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
