"My family never crossed a border; the border crossed us," she said.

The Mexican-American, who was at the Wells Fargo Center to introduce New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, said: “I'm from a small town in South Texas, and if you know your history, Texas used to be part of Mexico. I'm ninth-generation American. My family never crossed a border; the border crossed us.”
The 41-year-old bashed the billionaire's plan to build a wall around the U.S. / Mexico border, and ripped his hateful rhetoric where he called Mexicans that cross the border “rapists” and criminals.
“When Donald Trump calls us criminals and rapists, he's insulting American families. My father is not a criminal or a rapist. In fact, he's a United States veteran,” she passionately said.
Longoria also took Trump to task about his views on women in the workplace. She cited a 1994 interview where he told NBC: "Putting a wife to work is a very dangerous thing."
She fought back, saying: “When he said that a wife who works is a very dangerous thing, he not only insulted me, he insulted my mother who worked as a special-education teacher for 40 years and raised four children while being a wife.”
Last week at the RNC, Trump seemed to change his tone, saying he would fight for women to get equal pay and affordable childcare.
Following her speech, Longoria took to Instagram, calling the experience “an honor.”
