She was actually at her favorite restaurant, Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua, New York surrounded by friends and neighbors as her historic nomination was announced in Philadelphia.
On Tuesday night, the Democratic presidential nominee told the audience from the restaurant: "What an incredible honor that you have given me. And I can't believe we just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet... This is really your victory. This is really your night."
Owner John Crabtree gave Inside Edition a tour of the establishment. He said she stood near the fireplace and cameras were everywhere.
“People were here, people were there, people were everywhere,” he said. “It was history. History was being made.”
Crabtree said there were 50 people in attendance and no one knew she was coming but him.
“It was a busy night and people were coming by and saw the cameras, saying, ‘Hey what is going on in there?’ They wanted to keep it low key, so we kept it quiet. They told me that the guests that were invited to be here did not know she was going to be there, so we wanted to keep it a surprise. It was fun," he said.
He added: "When she came in it was wonderful. Everybody cheered, everybody applauded."
The Clinton's frequented the restaurant often after moving to the town right before she became a New York senator in 2000.

In 1981, the Crabtree family took it over where it became a farm-to-table restaurant.
The Clinton's have become friends with the owners and Chelsea had her baby shower in the establishment.
According to their website, the restaurant has been voted the "Best Brunch," "Best Private Dining," and "Best Wine Menu" in the county by residents.
