Stork Seeks Shelter from Hurricane Matthew in Men's Bathroom

A smart stork seeks shelter and safety inside a men's bathroom.
As Floridians are trying to get away from Hurricane Matthew, one smart stork found shelter in a men’s bathroom.
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park posted a photo of the bird seeking refuge inside a restroom at its facility.
The zoo’s Facebook page noted: “No species discrimination in this bathroom!”
General curator Genny Anderson told InsideEdition.com the stork isn’t the center's only animal waiting out the Category 3 storm.

“All of the animals at the zoo are all in different hurricane buildings,” said Anderson. “We actually have another male stork in the women’s bathroom.”
According to Anderson, the two storks don’t have a reliable food source and aren’t small enough to fit into a tight crate for 48 hours.
“Birds have high metabolisms,” said Anderson. “We made sure that they have enough room, food and water to ride out the storm.”

The zoo also kept every species of crocodiles, turtles, snakes, and other animals in multiple spaces in the facility.
