Meet the 'Jilted Brides Club' - Including a Woman Whose Fiance Called Wedding Off Via Text

Surprisingly, these women call being left at the altar the best thing that ever happened to them.

These three women come from different backgrounds but all share one common indignity — they were with men who broke their hearts at the worst possible time.

Kilee Manulak of Tampa, Florida, was engaged for two years. But a week before her wedding, her fiancé announced he was dumping her — by text.

“I was devastated,” she told Inside Edition.

He said in the message that he didn’t want to be married to her and the only way she could cope was to trash her dress with her bridesmaids.

She called the ritual “something that kept my mind off of it.”

Cyndi Maisonneuve, 32, was left by her man just an hour before the wedding.

“He embraced me and I kinda pushed him away and said, ‘Are you joking?’ Well of course he wasn't joking," she said.

Nicole Contos, 46, made front page news when her fiancé left her at the altar of a packed cathedral in Manhattan in 1997 and then had the nerve to proceed on the honeymoon to Tahiti, by himself.

"We couldn't believe that this was really happening. We had about 350 in the church, the archbishop at the time, the choir,” she said.

But she held her head high and turned her reception into a giant party, dancing to the disco anthem, "I Will Survive."

Contos got married a few years after the incident.

She said: "I had faith in myself and two years later I met George on a blind date and now next week we're going to have our 15-year anniversary and we have two girls."

Manulak and Maisonneuve both have serious boyfriends.

Each of the women agrees that when they were jilted by their men, it surprisingly was the best thing ever to happen to them.
