Priest Puts Aborted Fetus on Altar in Live Recorded Appeal for Trump Support
Father Frank Pavone heads the Priests for Life organization out of Staten Island, New York.
A Catholic priest has caused widespread revulsion ahead of Election Day with a livestreamed video in which he lays an aborted fetus on an altar in an appeal for voters to choose Trump.
In a Facebook Live video, Father Frank Pavone prayed Sunday over what he said was a fetus aborted in the second trimester, which he said he'd been entrusted by a pathologist to bury.

"Today I am showing him to you because in this election we have to decide if we will allow this child killing to continue in America or not," Pavone wrote in his post.
He continued: "Hillary Clinton and the Democratic platform say yes, let the child-killing continue (and you pay for it); Donald Trump and the Republican platform says no, the child should be protected."
Pavone is a priest in the Amarillo, Texas, archdiocese, and is a long-time vocal opponent of abortion.
According to CBS News, his previous conduct led Cardinal Timothy Dolan to cut ties with Pavone in 2014.
In a post on the New York Archdiocese website, public policy director Ed Mechmann called the video "appalling."
"Yesterday, Fr. Frank Pavone, the leader of Priests for Life, went live on Facebook to endorse Donald Trump for President. That's his right as a U.S. citizen, and one can agree or disagree with that as a matter of course.
"But the way he did it was absolutely appalling, and deserves to be repudiated by all of us who consider ourselves to be pro-life in the fullest meaning of that word."

At the end of the letter, Mechmann criticizes Pavone's stunt as purely political.
"A human being has been sacrificed and the altar of God has been desecrated, all for politics. Everyone who respects the dignity of every human person should reject and disavow this atrocity," he wrote.
