Rush Limbaugh Attacks The First Lady's Eating Habits

Rush Limbaugh lashed out at Michelle Obama, calling her a hypocrite for reportedly not practicing her own healthy eating initiative. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
It's a diet war between the conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and First Lady Michelle Obama. Limbaugh lashed out at the First Lady for eating ribs during her vacation in Vail, Colorado.
"Michelle, my belle, minus the husband, took the kids to Vail and they were feasting on ribs. Ribs that were 1575 calories per serving with 141 grams of fat."
Obama had dinner with daughters Sasha and Malia at the Kelly Liken Restaurant in Vail. The meal consisted of arugula salad, short ribs with wild mushrooms and sauteed kale.
Limbaugh says the dinner contradicts the First Lady's anti-obesity campaign and said, "She is a hypocrite. Leaders are supposed to be leaders. If we are supposed to go out and eat nothing and if we are supposed to eat roots and berries and tree bark, show us how."
Limbaugh then took a swipe at Obama's figure on air and said, "The problem is, and dare I say it, it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own dietary advice, then she is out eating ribs."
His co-workers seemed shocked by the crack about the super-fit First Lady and questioned Limbaugh live on air.
Limbaugh replied, "What do you mean what do I mean? No, I'm trying to say our First Lady does not project the image of a woman you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months."
Bloggers immediately began firing back at Limbaugh, who's had his own struggle with weight.
"Rush Limbaugh should be worrying about the calories HE puts in HIS body before he starts talking about what someone else is eating," one blogger wrote.
Another blogger wrote, "Isn't that a bit like the pot calling the kettle fat? He is the epitome of a hypocrite."
The restaurant's owner Kelly Liken says the First Lady's short rib was actually just 600 hundred calories, not 1500 calories, as Limbaugh claimed.
INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander says, "I was treated to a similar meal prepared by Dave Martin, a former contestant on Bravo's Top Chef, he said Obama's meal was actually a healthy choice."
