Deputy Cody William, 23, of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, said he was in a parking lot Monday with his captain when Jason, 12, approached him and started chatting.
“He started dancing a bit, and I made a comment to him about how he can dance,” William told InsideEdition.com. "He said, 'I bet I could dance better than you.'"
Without missing a beat, William pulled up his phone, and started playing Zay Hilfigerrr and Zayion McCall’s viral hit, "Juju on that Beat."
As they challenged each other in their own renditions of the dance, William’s captain caught the entire thing on camera.
"YouTube taught me how to do it,” William joked. “I like to stay in the trend of things when it comes to dancing."
The deputy, who has been with the department for about three years, said he took a few minutes out of his working day to dance with the boy because he thought it was important to connect with citizens.

“I wanted to show that not all cops are bad. We’re actually here to help the community,” he said. “Sheriff’s office, we’re big on community. That’s what we’re about — we’re not here to write tickets.”
William even said he’s planning drop by the boy’s home to say hello, with the hope of continuing their positive relationship and to keep on dancing.
