Oops! Serena Williams Admits She Made Pregnancy Announcement by Mistake
The 35-year-old athlete said being pregnant is not going to slow her down.
Tennis pro Serena Williams revealed that her pregnancy announcement on Snapchat last week was not intentional.
She said she was documenting her baby bump for herself and accidentally posted the photo to the social media site.
"I was on vacation, taking time for myself, and I have this thing where I've been checking my status and taking a picture every week," she told Gayle King at the TED2017 Conference in Vancouver, Canada, on Tuesday night.
She added: “I've been just saving it, but you know how social media is — you press the wrong button. My phone doesn't ring that much, and 30 minutes later, I'd missed four calls. So I picked it up and realized, 'Oh no.'"
The 35-year-old athlete also said that being pregnant is not going to slow her down.
“I am always trying to defy the odds,” she told King. “I definitely plan on coming back, I am not done yet.”
Williams says she plans to get right back to tennis once the baby is born.

“My baby is going to be in the stands and hopefully cheering and not crying too much,” she said.
The 23-time Grand Slam champ will take the remainder of the year off so she can focus on her pregnancy.
She is due in the fall.
