Cops Charge 8-Year-Old Girl With Felony After She Allegedly Broke Into Car
The girl will face a juvenile court judge next month.
Cops in Florida say they had little choice but to arrest a little girl on felony charges after she was allegedly seen in surveillance footage breaking into a car.
Palm Beach police say an 8-year-old girl was identified following the vehicle break-in on May 8, leading police to show up at her elementary school this week.

The girl was questioned and showed the video, prompting her to name a 13-year-old boy and another girl, no age given, who were with her, police said.
In the video, cops say it's the 8-year-old, the youngest of the bunch, who entered the driver's side door.
The 13-year-old was urging her to stop the break-in, cops say.
Officers went to the 8-year-old girl's home, located less than a mile from where the burglary took place, to talk with her mother, according to WKMG.
Police said the mother confirmed that the young child in the video was her daughter.
The girl has been charged with burglary to an unoccupied conveyance and attempted theft.
Palm Bay police Lt. Mike Bandish said the arresting officer had little leeway in the matter.

"It is a felony," Bandish told WKMG. "There has to be a charge. Also, my understanding is that she was not placed in a lock-up situation. Normally, you see kids start this kind of activity when they’re older, maybe 14 or 15 years old."
The girl is due in court June 2.
