President Obama scored big laughs at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, never showing a sign that the risky operation to kill Osama bin Laden was already underway. INSIDE EDITION has details from inside the dinner.
The President put on his poker face at the White House Correspondents Dinner after authorizing the raid on Osama bin Laden's hideout.
The President was playing it cool even as Saturday Night Live's Seth Meyers cracked a joke about the 9-11 mastermind.
Meyers joked, "People think bin Laden is hiding in the Hindu Kush, but did you know that every day from 4 to 5 he hosts a show on C-Span?"
The top-secret military operation had been ordered for Saturday, the day of the White House Correspondents Dinner, but it was pushed back a day because of bad weather.
But there were clues that something huge was afoot. Top White House aides were said to be glued to their Blackberrys as they sat in the audience, apparently checking for any word of the raid.
Then there was the moment when Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet received an e-mail saying that his White House V.I.P. tour which was scheduled for Sunday, had been cancelled. White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley was sitting at his table, but he would only say, "I don't know, maybe a pipe broke."
It was also the night when President Obama took his revenge on Donald Trump. When Trump took his seat at the dinner, the jokes at his expense started to fly.
President Obama said, "Obviously we all know about your credentials and breadth of experience. In an episode of Celebrity Apprentice, you didn't blame Little John, or Meat Loaf, you fired Gary Busey. These are the kind of decisions that would keep me up at night."
Trump managed an uncomfortable smile, but when Seth Meyers took his turn, Trump's gaze turned icy.
"Donald Trump has been saying that he will run for President as a Republican, which is surprising since I just assumed he was running as a joke. Donald Trump owns the Miss America Pageant which will streamline the search for a Vice President," joked Meyers.
As if things couldn't get any worse for Trump this weekend, Celebrity Apprentice was interrupted last night for the President's big announcement.
Back at the White House Correspondents Dinner, Hollywood stars rubbed elbows with top politicians and journalists. CBS's Lara Logan had everyone's attention as she reemerged after her nightmare attack in Egypt.
Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol showed up in a white mini-dress. And Sean Penn was there with girlfriend Scarlett Johansson, who ran into Trump.
But what was most striking was the game face of the President, as he waited for the news that would change the world.
