She fell onto a concrete walkway and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, officials said. Her name was not released.
“The child was actually in a different unit other than their own, playing with some friends," Brookline Police Lt. Phillip Harrington told reporters, according to NECN-TV.
“There were adults in the unit and there were adults on the scene,” he said.
A 5-year-old boy plunged seven stories on Saturday from his home in Quincy.
The child had been leaning against a window screen when it gave way, authorities said.

He landed in a bush in a grassy area and was able to walk away, neighbors said.
“I heard a lady screaming at the top of her lungs and I saw a kid on the ground,” resident Muhammad Khan told WBZ-TV. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, a kid fell.’’’
And then the boy got up and started walking, Khan said.
He seemed “perfectly fine,” the neighbor said.
The child was examined at a local hospital and is doing fine, authorities said.
