Grandfather Elated as First Boy Is Born Into Family After Generations of Only Girls
James Patrick, 49, thought he was expecting a granddaughter after having two sisters, four daughters and two other granddaughters.
After having two sisters, four daughters and two granddaughters, an Illinois grandfather is elated to find out the newest member of his family is a boy.

James Patrick of Breese burst into tears when he walked into his daughter’s hospital room, and discovering his latest grandchild, baby Landry James, was wearing a t-shirt that read: “FYI: I’m a boy!”
“Dad has been the only boy in a long line of girls, so when we found out the baby's gender at 20 weeks, we knew we had to keep it from him,” mom Carie Elbe told Caters News.
In fact, the surprise was compounded since Patrick met his grandson on his 49th birthday.
Elbe explained their entire family was in on the prank.

"The problem was our daughter, who is 4, already knew so we had to talk her in to keeping it a secret,” she said. “I just can’t believe we pulled it off.”
