Woman Gives Birth to Baby in Backseat of Uber: 'It Never Happens This Fast'

They baby is doing great.

A pregnant woman in California may have been hoping for a fast birth, but maybe not this fast.

Erica Davidovich was on her way to a hospital in an Uber Sunday when she gave birth to a baby boy in the backseat of the car.

“I didn't push," Davidovich told ABCNews. "Nothing happened. Somehow... the gravity... the baby just slid out. My incredible husband caught the baby."

Raymond Telles, Davidovich's Uber driver, recorded the intense moment that she gave birth alongside her husband.

“It never happens this fast,” Davidovich can be heard saying in the video while Telles is on the phone with police.

Davidovich’s water broke just minutes into the ride and Telles said he was shocked.

“It's just Uber," Telles told KCBS. "You expect to take someone from A to B. It was the most prettiest, ugliest, beautiful — it was a mixture. I know I will never be in a situation like that again."

Davidovich later said that her doctor advised her to stay home as long as possible while in labor, but maybe she waited a bit too long.

Paramedics took the couple and their newborn to the hospital where mom and baby are reportedly doing just fine.

Telles got to meet the couple’s baby on Monday, when he gave the new addition an Uber onesie.
