Has Natalee Holloway's Body Been Found? Remains Reportedly Discovered in Search for Missing Teen
The Alabama teen vanished during a school trip in 2005.
Has the 12-year-old mystery of Natalee Holloway's disappearance finally been solved?
Some human remains that could be that of the missing Alabama teen have reportedly been found in Aruba, where she vanished without a trace during a school trip back in 2005.
Her body has never been found.
Holloway's father, Dave Holloway, says a new informant may have revealed the spot where longtime suspect Joran van der Sloot and an accomplice disposed of the body of the 18-year-old.
The tip led to a startling discovery.
“We actually found human remains,” Dave Holloway said.
Now, her father is determined that the new information could present a sense of closure in the case.
“This is one of the best leads we've had throughout this process,” he said.
Holloway and private investigator T.J. Ward say the remains are human, and they are now being analyzed to ascertain whether they are those of Natalee.
"You have to go in and do DNA tests from what we have found now and those results are pending over the next few weeks before we hear what the results are," Ward told Inside Edition.
The informant is featured on the Oxygen network's The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The program details efforts by Dave Holloway and Ward to finally bring his beloved daughter home.
Van der Sloot has never been charged in Natalee's death, and he is currently imprisoned for the 2010 murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in Peru.
The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway airs Saturday on the Oxygen network.
