“He was literally breathing down my neck," she said in the audio about how Trump followed her on stage during a 2016 debate. "My skin crawled. No matter where I walked he followed me closely, staring at me, making faces.”

The audio excerpt from her new book, What Happened, which hits bookshelves Sept. 12, was leaked to MSNBC's Morning Joe.

In the excerpt, Clinton claims she considered turning on Trump.

“Do you turn and look him in the eye and say loudly and clearly: 'Back up you creep! Get away from me. I know you love to intimidate women but you can't intimidate me. So back up!'” she said. “It certainly would have been better TV.”

The leak comes as President Trump fired up his supporters with a fiery speech in Phoenix, Ariz., in which he took aim at the media once again for how his comments about the situation in Charlottesville, Va., were reported.

“The very dishonest media — those people right up there with all the cameras,” he said. “They don't report the facts. Just like they don't want to report that I spoke out forcefully against hatred and violence.”

The boisterous crowd turned and hurled insults at reporters in the arena.

Trump also mocked ABC's George Stephanopoulos' height when he called the former Bill Clinton aide “Little George.”

Stephanopoulos, who stands 5-foot, 5 inches, made only a passing comment about the remark Wednesday morning on Good Morning America.

“We learned last night that the president watches GMA,” he said. “He took off on me last night.”

A Trump supporter who appeared behind the president during the Arizona speech became a troublesome figure on social media after The Washington Post reported he is a former cult member who was acquitted of conspiracy to commit two murders in the 1990s.

During the rally in Phoenix, the man held a sign that promoted “Blacks for Trump 2020.”

He's a regular at Trump rallies, the president actually acknowledged him during a campaign stop last October.

“Look that those signs, ‘Blacks for Trump’ — I love those signs. Thank you,” Trump said.
