Mom Abandons Kids in Public Park While She Gets Tattoo: Cops
An Oregon mother left her two kids, ages 3 and 8, in a park while she went to get a tattoo, authorities said.
An Oregon mother was arrested after she abandoned her young children in a public park to get a tattoo, authorities said.
Ana Lisa Lara, 28, left her kids, ages 3 and 8, while she went to a nearby inking parlor, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
Deputies responded to a 911 call from a family that discovered the children hiding in the park’s bathroom, according to investigators.
The kids had become frightened when it started to rain and hid inside the restroom, deputies said. About 20 minutes later, Lara arrived to pick up her children. Instead, she was arrested.
The children had been left unsupervised for about an hour, officials said.
She was charged Saturday with two counts each of criminal mistreatment, child neglect and a single count of child endangerment. Lara was released Sunday after posting $10,000 bail.
Her children were placed in the custody of a family member, deputies said.
