Tracy Morgan Returns to Nashville to Apologize for Anti-Gay Rant
Tracy Morgan continues his apology efforts, returning to Nashville today where his anti-gay rant caused a shockwave across the country. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
A glum Tracy Morgan returns to the scene of his now notorious homophobic rant.
"I want to apologize to everybody who I offended with my words on stage," said Morgan. "I don't have a hateful bone in my body."
Morgan traveled back to Nashville, apologizing in a convention center right across the street from the comedy club where he unleashed earlier this month.
At the comedy club earlier this month, Morgan said, "Gays need to quit being ------s and not be whining about something as insignificant as bullying," he said. Morgan also told the crowd he would kill one of his sons if he found out he was gay.
"I didn't believe anyone should be bullied or made to feel bad about who they are," said Morgan.
Since the tirade, the 30 Rock star has gone into damage control overdrive, teaming up with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, meeting with homeless gay teens, and now holding a press conference.
The View's Joy Behar tweeted, "Tracy Morgan's gone overboard with the apologies."
But Elke Kennedy, who's murdered gay son was the victim of a hate crime said she appreciated Morgan's mea culpa.
"As a mother, I'm glad that he has remorse for what he said," said Kennedy.
"I don't really see gay or straight. I just see human beings now," said Morgan.
