Was Kim Kardashian's 72-Day Marriage a Sham?

Kim Kardashian's marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries was so short, many are questioning whether the whole thing was just a publicity stunt. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
A besieged Kim Kardashian was mobbed at the airport in Los Angeles as she boarded a flight to Australia, and she wasn't wearing her wedding ring.
She looked grim and beaten down as question after question was hurled at her.
Just 72 days ago, she married basketball star Kris Humphries in a $20 million made-for-TV wedding spectacular. Now, people are asking if the whole thing was a huge fake from the get-go. The New York Post headline screams: "Big A$$ Sham."
The tight-knit Kardashian crew is closing ranks to support Kim. Stepfather Bruce Jenner stopped by Kim's Beverly Hills house yesterday. He said, "All I know is, Kim's doing great."
INSIDE EDITION spoke to Kim's brother Rob on the set of Dancing with the Stars.
"She's obviously going through a difficult time right now, but we're her family and we'll always be there for her," he said.
"In a lot of ways, the marriage seemed doomed from the start. They're very, very different people and while Kim is in love with being in love, she also wasn't ready to sacrifice her career to become a wife and mom," says People's Kim Coyne.
The late night comics are already having a field day with the news.
"To their credit they did try twenty minutes of counseling, it just didn't work," joked Jay Leno.
"Tonight's show will last about an hour, just like Kim Kardashian's marriage," Jimmy Fallon told his audience.
And what about the gifts? They registered for expensive items at Gearys of Beverly Hills, like a $6,900 Lalique vase and a three-piece tea service that a guest paid $3,550 for.
Now the big question is, when you receive a bunch of great gifts like the ones Kim and Kris got, if the marriage doesn't last, at what point do you have to give them back? Is there any way that 72 days is long enough to keep the presents?
"Kim and Kris should return their gifts. They were only married seventy-two days, which is only a couple months, and those gifts really should go back to the people that gave them," says Sarah Newell, weddingchannel.com.
And it appears that even Kim's sister thought the marriage wouldn't last. Listen to what Khloe told Kathie Lee Gifford at the ceremony:
"At the reception afterwards, Khloe, who always says what she thinks, walks by me and, I don't think Khloe would care if I said it, she goes, 'I give it six [expletive] months!'" said Kathie Lee on Today.
It turns out it didn't even last that long.
