Justin Bieber spoke out about the paternity suit filed against him, saying he never met the woman who claims he fathered her child last year after one of his concerts. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
Justin Bieber says he never even met the woman who's claiming he's the father of her baby. Bieber adamantly denied Mariah Yeater's paternity claim on the Today show Friday.
"Do you know this woman? Her name is Mariah Yeater. Have you ever met her?" asked Matt Lauer.
"Never met the woman. It's crazy that someone would want to make up such false allegations," said Bieber.
INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney spoke with Mariah Yeater's lawyers, Lance Rogers and Matthew Pare today.
McInerney said, "Justin Bieber came out with a very firm declaration today that he never met this woman. How does your client respond to Justin Bieber's outright denial?"
"There's a contradiction in stories here, and we're hopeful that the case will shake that out," said Rogers.
McInerney asked the lawyer about a report in the San Diego Union Tribune that Yeater told someone that the father of her baby was one of two men from Ocean Beach, California.
"When your client was asked who the father of the baby is, she never even mentioned Justin Bieber," said McInerney.
"We're aware of that report and, you know, it's actually not surprising that in a high-profile case like this people are going to come out of the woodwork. It's not a statement that we're giving a lot of credibility to at this point," said Pare.
Bieber told Matt Lauer there's no way he could have had sex with Yeater backstage following his show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last October, as Yeater claims.
"It's crazy because every night after the show I go right from the stage right to my car," said Bieber.
The documentary about his life, Never Say Never, seems to back up that claim. In it, the teen idol is seen going straight from the stage to his car surrounded by police and bodyguards.
McInerney asked, "She claims that Bieber is the father of her baby. This is a very strong allegation. Where is the proof?"
"The proof is in the court documents. There is additional credible evidence that we're willing to share with Justin Bieber's representatives or his legal team," said Rogers.
Bieber's girlfriend Selena Gomez found herself under siege as she made her way through a crush of photographers at Los Angeles International Airport on her way to London. She kept smiling, despite the tough questions.
The young lovers seem to be holding up, despite the intense scrutiny.
