Gabby Giffords's Husband Slams John Boehner in New Book

In a new book, Gabrielle Giffords's husband Mark Kelly slams House Speaker John Boehner, saying he never tried to visit Giffords after she was shot in the head. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

Gabby Giffords's husband Mark Kelly is slamming Speaker of the House John Boehner for never once visiting his wife after she was shot in the head during the deadly attack in Tucson in January.

In Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope, Kelly writes: "Considering that…he was the highest-ranking member [of Congress], we thought he'd ask to visit Gabby or at least give a call to see how she was doing. Our only contact with him had been a simple get-well card he'd sent a few days after Gabby was injured."

Boehner's office defended the Speaker, saying that his staff has been in contact with her staff throughout the past year.

Mark Kelly was at the Capitol Building today for a ceremony honoring astronaut legends John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, and others. Speaker Boehner was also there, but the two men apparently never spoke to each other.

Giffords's remarkable journey was recently featured in an ABC special.

Commander Kelly says it is possible Giffords will run for re-election next year.
