Time Magazine Breastfeeding Cover Sparks Controversy
The entire nation is talking about the controversial cover of Time magazine showing a woman breastfeeding her 4-year-old son. INSIDE EDITION reports.
It's the magazine cover photo the whole nation is talking about.
Now, we're learning more about the breastfeeding mom on the cover of Time magazine. Her name is Jamie Lynne Grumet, and her son, Aaron will be 4 years old next month.
26-year-old Grumet says she'll keep breastfeeding Aaron until he decides it's time to stop.
"It's about cradling, nurturing," said Grumet. "It's a big commitment. It's not right for everybody. I think that's the big thing. You need to do what's best for your baby."
But Grumet is under fire today. Psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow says the Time cover is: "A grotesque form of psychological abuse."
Grumet is a model and blogger, and Ablow argues that she's using her son as "a prop" to become famous.
Grumet posted additional photos on her blog with her second son, whom she adopted. He's five years old. In the photo, Grumet is breastfeeding both boys at the same time.
Aaron is quite a handful and mom says she's anxious to finally wean him off breastfeeding.
"I'm hoping our 4th year, just for me, is probably going to be our final," said Grumet.
