Jackson Family Insider Discusses Diana Ross and Michael's Kids

Jackson family insider Stacy Brown spoke to INSIDE EDITION about the secret meeting between Diana Ross and Michael Jackson's mother and his kids.

INSIDE EDITION is learning more about that secret meeting between Diana Ross and Michael Jackson's kids and his mom.

Stacy Brown is a Jackson family friend who wrote the book, The Man Behind the Mask, about Michael Jackson.

"Diana thought this is the best time to meet with Katherine Jackson. Now is the time to meet her face-to-face and see the children face-to-face," Brown told INSIDE EDITION.

He said, "Diana Ross, when she left that meeting, she let it be known that if something goes wrong, if this thing blows up publicly again, 'I'll be back.'"

When Michael Jackson died, it came as a surprise to many that Diana Ross was named as a back-up guardian in case Katherine Jackson became unable to care for the children. Michael had known Ross since he was 10 years old. He idolized her.

Brown said, "When the Jacksons went to Motown, Diana Ross had the responsibility of caring for Michael. In fact, the Jacksons lived with Diana Ross for a time."

Ross was especially concerned after she saw the now famous surveillance video that showed Paris Jackson arguing with her aunt Janet.

Brown said, "Paris Jackson and Diana Ross did enjoy an emotional moment. Diana gave Paris her phone number and told her, 'Use it. No matter what, use it.'"

Ross sat holding hands with Katherine Jackson as Michael's mother convinced her that she is in fine shape to take care of her grandchildren.

"Diana Ross felt very comfortable leaving the meeting that she was leaving the kids in good hands," said Brown.

Ross made it clear that she wants to remain in the children's lives.

"What role would Diana Ross play? If necessary, it was reiterated that she would certainly step in if needed," said Brown.
