Paula Broadwell Comes Out Of Hiding
Since the news surfaced that General Patraeus had an affair with Paula Broadwell, she has come out of hiding. INSIDE EDITION has the lastest.
Paula Broadwell has surfaced for the first time since news of the shocking sex scandal of her and General David Petraeus broke.
The ex-mistress of General Petraeus calmly sipped a glass of red wine and prepared dinner at her brother's house in Washington D.C.
On Live with Kelly and Michael, Kelly Ripa had fun with the sighting. She said, "Look, I do not want to be seen, please respect my privacy as I stand in this well lit room with media outside and my glass of Pinot Noir."
Broadwell, a fitness fanatic, was also spotted returning from a run at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
MSNBC's Richard Lui told INSIDE EDITION, "There is also questions about how much sensitive information she has."
President Obama faced a battery of questions about the growing scandal at a White House news conference, his first in eight months.
Obama said, "I have no evidence at this point that classified information was disclosed in any way that would have had a negative impact on our national security."
There are now so many characters in this national soap opera that The View decided to use a flow-chart.
Barbara Walters said, "Broadwell wrote an e-mail complaining about Kelley being flirtatious and Kelley then went to the FBI." Walters then addressed the crowd and said, "Are you with me, still?"
Not everyone finds the scandal amusing. Paula Broadwell's father-in-law, a Florida doctor, confronted reporters that showed up at his home.
He told a reporter, "You are on private property, you need to get your [expletive] off this property right this very second."
The reporter then asked, "We just wanted to talk to you real quick."
He said, "We don't want to talk."
But Petraeus's former executive officer, retired Col. Peter Mansoor, told INSIDE EDITION he expected a high standard from the renowned four-star general.
Mansoor said, “Even if she caught him in a weak moment, certainly it was a mutual decision to engage in the affair. Either one of them could have said ‘No’ and so I fault both of them for that.”
In the midst of the scandal, Petraeus appears as a character in the just-released video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
He's supposed to be a future secretary of defense. But that was before the sex scandal brought him down, and made him a prime target for the late night comics.
David Letterman joked, "Christies auctioned off a 76-Carat diamond. I believe it was purchased by General Petraeus for his wife."
Jay Leno joked, "A four-star general, highly decorated, brilliant strategist, director of the CIA, yet, he is behaving like your common congressman."
