Young Boys Help Save Baby's Life With CPR

Thanks to a poster they saw in school, two boys, aged 9 and 10 helped a mother save her baby's life with CPR before an ambulance arrived. INSIDE EDITION has the incredible story.

Susanna Rohm was home alone with her newborn baby boy when the unthinkable happened, he suddenly stopped breathing.

Susanna told INSIDE EDITION, “I put my finger under his nose to see if he was breathing. I realized he wasn't.”

She couldn't find her phone, so she ran outside to look for help.

The only people around were two best friends, nine-year-old Rocky and ten-year-old Ethan, who were throwing a football in the yard across the street.

She told the boys, “I said ‘Go call 911.’ They looked at me for a second and I said ‘Go!’”

Rocky told his grandma to call 911 and while Ethan waited for the ambulance. Rocky ran back to Susanna to see if he could help.

Susanna said, “I was screaming and praying and I didn't know what to do.”

Rocky said, “I saw that the baby was pale and not breathing so I told her to do CPR because that's the only thing that could revive the baby.”

Rocky remembered seeing a poster at school about how to perform CPR on a baby and told Susanna exactly what to do.

He said, “I told her ‘Use two fingers, not one whole hand.’”

Susanna said, “He said ‘Press down five times, now, blow in the baby's mouth.’”

The baby suddenly started to scream and Rocky had saved the day.

Susanna said, "If Rocky did not know CPR, Isaiah would have died."

Now baby Isaiah has two guardian angels, Rocky and Ethan, who are real life superheroes.

Rocky said, “I don't think I am a hero."

Ethan said, "We just cared about baby Isaiah being alive.”
