Criticism and Praise for White House Correspondents' Dinner

Sarah Palin criticizes, while others praise the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner. INSIDE EDITION reports from the gala event.
None other than Sarah Palin is blasting the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
"Pathetic," Palin tweeted. "The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these D.C. assclowns throw themselves a #nerdprom."
Palin wasn't the only big name dissing the star-studded dinner. Barbara Walters said on The View, "The White House Correspondents' Dinner has changed, and that's why some of us didn't go this year, because it's gotten movie star."
Legendary NBC anchorman Tom Brokaw says the event has been ruined by the attendance of ditzy Hollywood celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, who attended the dinner last year, along with Kim Kardashian.
"The breaking point for me was Lindsay Lohan. Give me a break, " Brokaw told politico.com.
INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent caught up with veteran Face The Nation host, Bob Schieffer, who attended the dinner with Homeland's Claire Danes.
Schieffer said, "If I get the chance to spend a few hours with Claire Danes and her husband, I'm going to do that. I'm sorry Tom, but I'm probably going to do that."
Palin aside, most people thought President Obama had the crowd in stitches.
"These days, I look in the mirror and have to admit, I'm not the strapping young muslim socialist that I used to be," said the president.
Modern Family's Julie Bowen was cracking up.
President Obama continued, saying, "I understand, second term, you need a burst of new energy, try some new things. My team and I talked about it and we were willing to try anything, so we tried one of Michelle's tricks," pointing to an altered photo of himself with bangs.
