BREAKING NEWS: Jodi Arias Found Guilty of Murder
A jury has found Jodi Arias guilty of first degree murder in the death of her former boyfriend, Travis Alexander.
A single tear rolled down the cheek of Jodi Arias as she is found guilty of first degree murder.
A juror read in court, "As to count one first degree murder, we find the defendant guity."
Her attorney, Jennifer Wilmott gently touched her shoulder to comfort her.
Each juror repeated their verdict individually. Tears came to Arias' eyes, but she kept her composure.
Behind her in the public gallery, members of victim Travis Alexander's family wept and hugged each other.
Then a single tear ran down Arias' cheek.
Hundreds of spectators gathered outside court and there was unrestrained jubilation at the verdict.
32-year-old Jodi Arias was convicted of murdering her boyfriend in 2008. She claimed Alexander attacked her and she killed him in self-defense.
The verdict capped a sensational four-month long trial that featured graphic testimony. Jodi Arias was on the witness stand for an unprecedented 18 days.
Now, Jodi Arias must face a penalty hearing in which the jury of eight men and four women must decide whether to give her life imprisonment, or put her to death.
