Woman Commands Would-Be Robber to Leave Her Store in the Name of Jesus

A Texas store owner commanded a would-be robber leave her store "in the name of Jesus," and he did! INSIDE EDITION has the surprising story.

One bad guy picked the wrong woman to mess with!

"In the name of Jesus I command you to get out of my store!" store owner Marian Chadwick told him. So what did the armed robber do? He ran!

"I think he was shocked," says Chadwick.

The confrontation happened just as Chadwick was about to close her gift shop in Frisco, Texas, for the night. Her last customer was in the store when the hooded gunman walked in.

"He comes up to the counter and says, 'This is a robbery, I want your money,' " recalls Chadwick. But she turned the tables on the robber.

"I am going, 'In the name of Jesus, you get out of my store!' and he is saying 'I am serious,' I am saying, 'So am I,' and I'm yelling at the top of my lungs," Chadwick tells INSIDE EDITION.

The robber then turned on customer Kathy Vereen, telling her to get on the floor, but she also stood up to him.

"I was like, why would I get on the floor, if she's not stepping down...kind of like, why should I?" says Vereen.

Incredibly, despite carrying a gun, the robber turned and fled.

"He started backing up and started cussing at us as if Satan was walking out the door," remembers Chadwick.

Chadwick says she doesn't recommend standing up to armed gunmen, but she does believe that a higher power gave her the courage to stand up to evil.

Police believe that same robber went on to rob five other businesses that same night. He has not yet been apprehended.
