INSIDE EDITION spoke to Sarah Ferguson in 2006 where she revealed she wanted to be a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. Could an invitation to compete be a way out of her financial jam?
Could duchess-in-disgrace Sarah Ferguson be a competitor on the next Dancing with the Stars?
"I would quite like to go on Dancing with the Stars. I'd like somebody to teach me the tango" Ferguson told INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney in 2006 at a charity event attended by some of that season's Dancing with the Stars line-up.
Ferguson was in a playful mood, but she was serious about being on the hit show.
"You don't get a chance to watch TV but I do know the show and my children would be so proud of me," she said.
Fergie even tried a few short steps of the cha-cha.
In 2009, published reports said she was to appear on the British version of the show, but negotiations faltered.
Now that Fergie is in dire financial straits and a virtual outcast in Britain, a Dancing with the Stars invite could be a way out of the mess.
Fergie's former advisor says he isn't surprised by the scandalous video which showed her negotiating a $750,000 bribe for access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
"She apologized, what more could she do. I think she'll bounce back," her former advisor said.
