Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" is one of the most-viewed videos online. Now, people are crafting their own parodies. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
Miley Cyrus’ controversial video for the song “Wrecking Ball” is shattering records. It's also led to dozens of parodies and even those spoofs have millions of views.
One using actor Nicolas Cage's image has been viewed an amazing six million times.
The craze has even led to the halls of higher learning.
A wrecking ball that's actually a piece of art at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, has become a magnet for students. Dozens of them have posted pictures of themselves riding the giant metal ball. One guy stripped down like Cyrus for his turn in the spotlight.
But now, the ball is history. It has been moved to a storage facility. The university said it became a danger to students. But the students are not happy. Two hundred of them protested Tuesday night.
The university released this statement: "The installation showed cable decay. Safety is our main concern. We hope the pendulum can be reinstalled at that location or another suitable location on campus."
Meanwhile, the wife of Robin Thicke is finally speaking out about the now infamous twerking incident. Not only did she know about, she didn't have a problem with it.
She was asked by Savannah Guthrie on the Today show on Wednesday, “Did you know about it?”
She replied, “Yes, they practiced for three days. Robin told me in advance. What did people expect, Miley to come out and play piano?”
She even did a little twerking herself.
