Pop star Selena Gomez is reportedly battling the auto-immune disease, lupus. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Selena Gomez is reportedly battling lupus and she is setting her singing career aside to fight the disease, according to reports.
Reports published online say the 21-year old former Disney star may have cancelled the Australian and Asian legs of her 'stars dance' tour last week because of lupus.
She made no mention of the disease is a recent statement about the cancellation, saying only: "I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
But reports now say she has been fighting a losing battle with the auto-immune disease for over two years and needs time to rest.
"Her lupus is really catching up with her right now," a source was quoted as saying, "She needs to take some time to address the disease if she wants to live a full and healthy life."
Symptoms of lupus include excruciating joint pain, skin rashes, fever and fatigue.
A spokesperson for Gomez had no comment.
