Gisele Bundchen Under Fire Over ATV Ride

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is facing harsh criticism after she was photographed riding an ATV on vacation with her infant daughter and no helmet. INSIDE EDITION explains.

What was supermodel Gisele Bundchen thinking? She is coming under fire for the shocking photo taken on a beach on vacation in Costa Rica.

She was driving an ATV with one hand on the handlebars and the other on her infant daughter, Vivian Lake. Neither of them was wearing a helmet.

Parenting experts are calling Gisele, who is married to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, downright reckless.

Lyss Stern runs the website Divamoms.com. She told INSIDE EDITION, "I was horrified. I cannot even believe what I saw. How can a mother not realize that helmets must go on their heads before going on any ATV?"

A spokesperson for Gisele defended her on Tuesday saying, "Gisele was on a private beach driving very, very, slowly."

Gisele is the latest celebrity whose parenting skills are drawing criticism. Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk took flak for taking his four-year-old daughter skateboarding without a helmet or pads.

Many thought Gwyneth Paltrow was irresponsible for driving her kid’s home from school on a scooter after she came very close to getting run over by a bus.

Who could forget Britney Spears’ less-than-perfect parenting moment when she was photographed driving with her son Sean on her lap.

Stern said, "These celebrities are role models. They are idolized by people and parents everywhere. They should be setting a good precedent, showing that they are doing the right thing, and that safety comes first for their children."
