Some parents think that Miley Cyrus may have crossed the line with her latest tour and this could be resulting in poor ticket sales. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Is there finally a Miley Cyrus backlash?
"Porn show" is what some outraged parents are calling Miley's new concert tour.
According to the showbiz website, The Fix, Miley's concert promoter has been "flooded with complaints, mainly from parents" and "arenas across the US threaten to pull out of the show."
Forbes magazine is also reporting that many Miley Cyrus tickets are selling below face price. There has certainly been a backlash in one sect of the population of people that are attending these concerts which is a big influential sect: the parents of the preteens.”
You can now buy a ticket for Miley's tour on e-Bay and other secondary markets for $182. That may sound expensive, but it's actually down from $225 just two months ago. And many tickets reportedly remain unsold.
The concert features Miley riding a giant hot dog, slithering suggestively on top of a car and changing from one raunchy outfit to another.
On The Talk, Aisha Tyler remarked, “I don’t think the message you are sending out riding on a big hot dog is ‘take me home to mom.’”
Miley's show features a "Parental Advisory, Explicit Content” sign. She appeared at the Honda Center in Orange County, California on Thursday night. 11% of the seats appeared to be empty. Some of her younger teeny bopper fans showed up with their moms.
One mom said, “Anybody who bring their kids here, they had plenty of opportunities to hear in the news and see the videos and hear the lyrics to the video. If they had any issues they shouldn’t bring their kids here.”
Another mother remarked, “I do think Miley is very smart. I think she has a strategy to what she’s doing.”
Miley's concert promoter, Live Nation, is disputing the reports that the tour is in trouble, saying in a statement: "There is no truth whatsoever to any stories or rumors of venues pulling out of the ‘Bangerz’ tour."
Miley herself seems to be enjoying the uproar, tweeting: “You can't say i didn't warn you. Now sit back relax & enjoy the show.”
