Kerry Kennedy On Trial For Alleged Drugged Driving

Kerry Kennedy had nothing to say as she entered a courthouse for the first day of testimony on charges of drugged driving.

A frail Ethel Kennedy showed up to support her daughter, who's the ex-wife of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Kerry was arrested after her car smashed into a tractor-trailer on an interstate highway near her home in Bedford, New York, two years ago. She drove on to the next exit, where police say she failed a sobriety test.

As always, the Kennedys come to each other's aid in times of crisis, but some believe Kerry's brother, Robert Kennedy Jr., has gone way over the top in defense of his sister.

He told the New York Post he believes that if Kerry is convicted, there would be worldwide consequences because of her human rights work.

"If she's convicted," Bobby warns "Kerry could be barred from entering foreign countries to perform such important work."

This headline summed it up: "Oh, brother!"

At the time of the accident, Kerry Kennedy told cops she might have accidentally taken an Ambien sleeping pill  instead of a pill for her thyroid condition.

Now, a jury will decide if she took the drug by accident.
