"I'm not very big. and I'm old,” she told KCCI.
None of that has prevented the Des Moines, Iowa, grandmother from testing for her black belt. Lange picked up the skill when she was just 65.
"I had talked to our kids. I said, 'Do you want me to buy long term care insurance or do taekwondo?' They said, 'Go for it mom,'" Lange said.
She's not slowing down anytime soon.
"I believe you need to be active physically, socially , mentally, spiritually it also means whatever time you have on earth, you're going to be using it well," Lange added.
Right now, Lange has a recommended black belt. She hopes to get her first-degree black belt to celebrate her 80th birthday — and she has just one more test to go.
