8-Year-Old With Rare Blood Disorder Swims With Mermaids
Naomi has been in and out of the hospital for treatment.
An 8-year-old recently enjoyed a magical afternoon of swimming with mermaids as she battles a rare blood disorder.
After encountering a pair of mermaids washed up on the shore of South Florida, little Naomi got to put on her own mermaid tail and fulfill her dreams of swimming around with the mystical creatures.
"My hope for her is that she stay better, she stay good, and she keep on living her dream," her mom Leona Guerrier told WPEC.
Naomi has been in and out of the hospital as she's treated for her blood disorder.
"This is a hard disease for a child so young to go through," her dad, Philip Hyde, said.
But, her love for mermaids has always inspired her to keep pushing through, and her wish to swim with mermaids came true Saturday afternoon, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"This day means a lot to see her happy," Guerrier said.
